Virtual Tech Support Assistance

My goal for this Taproot Project is to build a reliable tech support team to assist with managing Zoom logistics during Tangelic’s SEED Conference (August 11–15, 2025). Volunteers will be assigned to specific virtual rooms to handle tasks like admitting participants, spotlighting speakers, screen sharing, managing breakout rooms, and offering basic troubleshooting during live sessions.

We will need 5–7 volunteers, with shifts of 2–3 hours daily. Each tech support volunteer will attend a brief prep/training call the week prior to the conference to review their role and familiarize themselves with the session format.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping ensure seamless access to a global platform for women and youth leading clean energy solutions across Africa. Tech volunteers will make it possible for diverse voices to share ideas, connect across borders, and participate fully—regardless of their tech comfort level. By ensuring the virtual space is accessible and functional, volunteers will directly contribute to a more equitable and empowering experience for all participants.

My team and I have mapped out the session schedule and volunteer roles and are coordinating closely with our communications and events staff to ensure a smooth virtual experience. Volunteers will be provided with detailed instructions, assigned a point of contact for each session, and supported by a central tech coordination room throughout the conference. Training materials and a run-through session will be scheduled in early August.
